Help! I Don’t Understand…

Faith is a 19 year old graduate and working. She has a great family and an older brother who is a gay. She doesn’t like to tell this to a lot of people but she shared her story with me.
He’s a great older brother and someone she looked up to at one time. When he was in his teens is when she found out he’s gay. She didn’t know what to do. Being a Christian, she doesn’t believe in homosexuality. Faith said to me that if he was to get married to a man, she wasn’t sure she would be able to go to the wedding. She loves her brother very much, no matter what, but you can’t change someone. Faith doesn’t believe that you are born gay. She believes that it is a choice that you make. She knows that if he doesn’t put his trust in Jesus and allow God to change his life, that he won’t go to heaven. Which breaks her heart. But for right now, the only thing she can do, is pray and share her faith with him.
Faith’s story, shared briefly here, is not uncommon. Families everywhere face this same situation everyday. And for younger siblings walking in faith with Jesus, who’s brother or sister are living an open gay life can be especially hard. In this edition of Xposed2Truth we are not attempting to explain, argue, or debate the issue. But rather expose a truth that is happening in many families like Faith’s.
Exodus Youth is a community of people who are choosing to honor God with their sexuality and looking for real answers to their questions. Not just the quick answers you get from church or culture (just stop it / just do it), but answers that get to the heart of things. If you’re a young person and you think you might be gay–but are questioning whether there’s a way out, start here. Youth workers looking for information and resources to help address homosexuality with students, your section is here. And parents looking for help and support in responding to their son or daughter can find it here.
Maybe your a teen with a brother, sister or family member who is gay or is questioning their sexuality and you’ve been needing to tell your brief story to someone, just like Faith. Here at X2J we want to give you that outlet to share. Post your story below in the comments section. We’d love to hear from you, pray for you and help.

Great article and thanks for
Great article and thanks for the resources. I don't know if you've heard of it and/or what you think of them, but the Andrew Marin Foundation is another great organization that is trying to build bridges between the LGBT communities and the Church.
