Hurt People Hurt People

hurt people in youth ministry

Every church has them. You know the person who always looks and acts like they have been sucking on a lemon or downed a whole jar of dill pickles. The one that you avoid in the halls on Sunday morning, because you’re not up for getting nailed for some seemingly insignificant shortcoming you might have.

Remember, its very likely they have been hurt deeply by someone. When we feel that bad, Its just easier to make others feel as bad as we do. Our churches are full of “walking wounded”. We usually do a good job of hiding the bandages (especially Pastors and Staff). Work to make your church a hospital that will heal the sick, not a Country Club where everything is fake and superficial.
