The Key to Refreshment: Remembering

I know what it is like to wake up in the morning so tired that it hurts. I know what it is like to be so utterly drained in the physical, mental, and spiritual realm that I just do not know how I will make it one more day. To feel so depleted, that pouring out to the kids I minister to seems like an impossibility. If that is you, I have good news.

Get Refreshed Before a New Ministry Season Begins

Refresh Intro VideoThe end of summer is here. For some, summer is already over! Can you believe it?

My question for you is this: Did you get the break that you needed? Were you able to recharge before the next season of ministry begins?

The State of the [TEEN] Union

The State of the Union is the annual speech given by the president who claims everything is going to be okay. We're making strides here, we're making strides there. This is a VERY brief synopsis of the state of our teen culture and the dire need for pastors, youth pastors, youth leaders, and parents to do some things differently in order to see the kind of change that is healthy, holy, and righteous. This is an article written to inspire lives that affect the culture around us, not simply "put up with it."

Summer Retreats: The Ultimate Youth Pastor Checklist

Summer camp is a HUGE deal in most youth groups.  Not only is it a great time to escape with your kids and do something fun and exciting, but you also get a chance to worship and talk to them about God.  Head to the mountains or beaches and fill the week with pillow fights, silly pranks, campfires, and games.  Oh and no sleep (there won’t be much time for that!).  Don’t forget team competitions – they build camaraderie and create the best memories! So whether you’re joining forces with other churches or doing this solo, make sure you have a game plan set for the BEST summer retreat ever.  Here is a foolproof checklist to help you (and make your boss/pastor/board/church love you) when planning your summer camp!

Holy Spirit and Youth Ministry

If we were aware of truly who the Holy Spirit was we would understand that life and ministry is not about us. It is not about our desires. It is not about our comfort zones. It is truly about bringing honor and glory to God. Youth Ministry can be utilized even greater if we put aside our selfish desires, seek God's face, and desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Imagine how many teenage souls we would see come to Christ if our students understood the power and impact they could have through the Holy Spirit!!! Ultimately, imagine how great and prosperous the body of Christ would be if we relied completely on the Holy Spirit!
