She Just Couldn’t Understand It

Have you ever felt like you just don’t understand God? Confused at times? How about feeling like God isn’t there? Can you relate to this…
Hebrews 13:5
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
There is this little girl at my church who told me that she hated God. She’ll be turning 4 in a couple months. I didn’t understand how she could ‘hate’ God. Her parents are Christians and so are her brothers but she flat out said she hated God and church. I was worried about her. I thought “She’s 3 and she’s saying she hates God?” God had given His son, Jesus, to us and she didn’t like Him for it? She was crazy! It had bothered me.
One day last week I went kayaking with my dad and my sister’s fiancée. I was day dreaming and looking down at the creek water, thinking. Now, to tell you the truth, I think I can think way too much. I started thinking about my Marine Biology I was taking in school and how it explained what the water was made of. After thinking for a long while I got frustrated. Why did the water have to be made up of such little things? Why was it so hard to comprehend? Why did it confuse me to frustration? Then, it hit me. The little girl at my church didn’t hate God; she just couldn’t understand it and automatically got mad and frustrated. We hate things we don’t know or understand. Like Algebra, I’ve gotten so frustrated over some of those problems that I want to throw my book across the room and pout. Haven’t you ever felt that way? I’m sure a lot of you have. That little girl just doesn’t understand it right now. She goes from her house to church and doesn’t know where she is or how she’s supposed to handle it. It’s my job to show her who God is and what he’s done for me and her!
So before you click out, remember this: We might get frustrated with things that we don’t understand, no matter if its school, work, or just life in general, if you know who God is, than whatever you go through, he’ll never leave you nor forsake.
