An Example to Follow, a Friend to Walk Beside
What is a youth ministry coach?
A coach is someone who is there when you need them. They have been there before and will be there for you now. They understand the struggles you face and they are committed to giving you the support you need.
In the Next Level Partnership, each youth worker has a personal coach that is also a veteran youth pastor.
Your coach will take the time to get to know you, your dreams, your strengths, your weaknesses, and the unique circumstances of your church and community. He or she will help you identify goals for your youth ministry and your own leadership skills. Then you will work together to get there.
Your coach is there for you through thick and thin. They're not in it for themselves. Like you, they've made countless sacrifices to minister to youth, and now they're ready to make sacrifices for you.
Exactly how your coaching relationship works is up to the two of you, but your coach will always be there for you. There are times when you might need a little extra help dealing with angry parents or tough issues. Or you might just have a lot of questions. That's what your coach is for.
When Jesus walked the earth, He taught many things, but He also led by His example, and He took the time to coach each of His disciples along the way. This is the true example we all aspire to follow.
