Scriptures to Pray Over Your Students

Scripture

Below are some great scriptures to pray over your students.

This doesn’t mean that you read them once and then use them to browbeat your students and demand they change. Theses are verses to empower your prayers.

I encourage you to take them to the Lord in prayer again and again, asking Him to work so that the love, truth, and grace of God described in these verses would come to be reflected in the lives of your teens.

All your sons will be taught by the LORD, and great will be your children’s peace.” Isaiah 54:13

A wise son heeds his father’s instruction, but a mocker does not listen to rebuke.” Proverbs 13:1

As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.” 1 Peter 1:14

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.” 1 Peter 2:2

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’” Hebrews 13:5

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” Hebrews 13:16

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18

Finally, brothers, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.” 1 Thessalonians 4:1

Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’” 1 Peter 5:5

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” James 1:22

I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.” Philemon 1:6

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7

Nate Dame

Three years ago, Nate started Called to Youth Ministry with a desire to equip and support youth pastors. It started after he noticed a trend of people with a passion for students "go it alone" for too long and otherwise burn out, without a friend or mentor to stand by them. Now the ministry hosts online training and networking groups that leaders can join from anywhere in the world. Youth ministers from California to Florida to the UK have already benefited from the coaching, community and prayer support these groups provide.

Two year ago, Nate also started an SEO (Search Engine Optimization) company with a desire to feed his family. Now he enjoys balancing the two and being able to use the business to support his ministry habit.

Nate lives with his beautiful wife, Christa, and rambunctious two-year-old son, Josiah, in Lake Geneva, WI.

These scriptures help in a way that we can pull from them & get going on scriptual lessons to teach on when we meet. We can have the youth expound on them and have a discussion on each of their points of view.

Praying is all about

Praying is all about empowering and yes, knowing how to pray can make a difference to how we see things. In some religions people pray by praising divinity while in others, people pray by meditation, the Buddhists at Buddha Maitreya are just one example. Praying is one way of getting closer to divinity.

Prayer is a powerful way to remember that we are not God in our students' lives. God is at work and he is the one who transforms lives, not just clever ideas. Praying for our teens is critical in their walk with the Lord, and in us having the right perspective in the Ministry we have to them!
