Student Leadership

Want to Network with the Newsboys?

The Newsboys are being intentional about evangelism on their "God's Not Dead" tour for 2012. They have asked gifted evangelist and my boss, Bob Lenz, to partner with them by giving a clear Gospel message at each city they vist. In order to keep this from being a tour that simply passes through an area entertaining folks, I will be working with friend and colleague Kris Wood to network in each city on the tour.

Student Prayer Movement: See You At The Pole

The Bible tells us:

Whenever two or three of you come together in my name, I am there with you. Matthew 18:20 CEV

Are You Building a Kingdom Dream Team?

The dream of the students this summer was that they would have a non-apathetic summer. They are not interested in mundane church programs and sitting around all day in the Florida sun, but a ministry that never stops even on summer break! They believe because Jesus’love and pursuit of His people never stops—why should youth ministry stop this summer?

Seven Reasons Why Johnny Can't Lead

If you are concerned about why your students will not step up and lead, see if any of these may be true. This generation is too important for us to ignore or waste the opportunities God gives us.

Falling from Leadership Because of Disillusionment

Ever felt burned out, burnt up, disillusioned and down, and still in ministry? This article might be for you.

Student Leadership: Not As Easy As It Sounds

Why I am a Student Pastor, Part 3

It’s hard to run from God when you’re in a fish.

It’s also hard to run from God when you’re on a stretcher in the ER with your heart doing flip-flops.

Why I Am a Student Pastor: Part 2

I knew I was supposed to be a pastor at a very young age. Heck, I’m even named after a pastor...Decades before I would present my first formal sermon in front of those 8 students at the First Baptist Church of Pipe Creek, if you hit the “rewind” button about 30 years, you’d find me preaching my face off while standing in the big picture window of our living room. My mom said that I would preach powerfully as if every couch and coffee table in that room was about to gasp its last breath and sink into the eternal flames.

"This Is Me..."

Recently several students from the Lancaster, PA area got together to plan and organize a fundraising event. The spent weeks, days and hours gathering and sorting items for a yard sale.

It wasn’t to raise money for their youth group or any trip they are going on this summer.

No, as a matter fact not one penny they raised at this event that took place this past weekend will NOT be spent on them, their youth group or church.
