Be Angry and Sin Not

Usually in seeking to understand this biblical phrase we skip directly to examples. Most often we begin with an example where we (or someone else) displayed righteous anger (in our opinion). To take a fresh approach, but hopefully not a novel one, let’s begin with the passages. However, this post will assume the “trigger” for your anger is legitimate.

Lesson Helper: Bringing Sin and Praise Together

Tonight I finished a series with my small group students. My goal has been to make their faith a central part of their home lives, even if their parents weren’t doing it themselves.

The method of choice for of our final lesson was to put their sin side-by-side with their praise so they could see the need for God in every part of their lives.

They cannot hope to make Christ central in their home life if they don’t allow Him into every aspect of their lives.

Iron Man 2: Sins and How it Affects Us

I became a huge fan of Iron Man when the first one came out in 2008. It is still one of my favorite movies in my collection today.

I always find it interesting the spiritual allegories we find in movies. Sometimes it’s a stretch to name them allegories but sometimes they just jump off the screen at you.

Hear me out – IM2 is NOT a Christian movie and there’s plenty of things in the movie to remind us it’s not. However there are some strong allegories we cannot ignore.
