Try This Video: Easy, Impromptu Promo

This summer our high school ministry is having games in the park followed by free soft drinks and board games at the church. It’s a great and cheap way to build community and memories.

Yesterday I shot this impromptu video with a student to put up on Facebook so students who haven’t gone could get a feel for what happens and have an invitation from one of their own.

The student in the video had a great idea to add a little sound track and a label to the video just to spruce it up using iMovie on my iPhone 4. It wasn’t necessary, but i like it. Once that was done, I uploaded it to Facebook. You could do the same without getting fancy in about 5 minutes with any cell phone that shoots video and can upload to Facebook.

Did you have any problems

Did you have any problems with the resolution? I posted wakeboarding videos from a recent houseboating trip (shot with my iPhone 4) but they were really lossy...lots of checkerboarding, even though they were labeled in Facebook as HD.

Any ideas?

I have to say that I'm loving the iPhone 4 for youth ministry. It may seem like an extravagance to some, but I've taken photos, shot video, taken guys Geocaching, built worship music playlists. It's my pocket Bible, movie trivia finder, notepad, reminder, you name it. Sometimes I wonder what I'll do if I drop it off a cliff or if it gets run over by a skateboard, but it's been a really handy tool so far.
